Linda' notes: Jack was being shown when we decided to stop showing and start racing. He made the transition from the show ring to the race track without any regrets as far as he was concerned. Never a fast dog, he was a joy to race and even got into the traps himself. He usually managed to get into the consolations finals at most Opens and we had a lot of fun racing him. At our local club Jack was always picked to help youngsters start their racing careers as he has a very sound and steady temperament. He is over 11 years old now but his keeness to go hunting has never dwindled and he runs about as if he's still a youngster. He's a very comical dog and a pleasure to have around.
We didn't think it was fair to leave the poor old soul out of this web site because if it wasn't for Jack we would never have started racing Whippets.
